MAN&BOY have been championing positive male role models and supporting boys, men and their families for over a decade. The national debate is catching up - Sir Gareth Southgate talking about boys needing role models, the ground breaking TV Drama Adolescence and the Centre for Social Justice’s new report ‘Lost Boys’ are making waves. As an organisation working in this space, we are delighted that the importance of our work is finally being highlighted and discussed on the nation stage.
There has been a recent media and political focus on the challenges facing young boys as they navigate their journey to adulthood. The Netflix drama Adolescence and its portrayal of the dangers of unchecked online activity have highlighted the vulnerability of young boys seeking direction and a sense of belonging. This issue was further underlined by the BBC’s Sir Gareth Southgate's David Dimbleby Lecture as well as the recent Centre for Social Justice report 'Lost Boys'; which explores the crisis facing boys and young men and its broader societal impact.
