A new summer project designed to help boys connect, communicate and express themselves through movement is taking place this July in Kingston and Richmond.
Connect, Communicate, Create is being delivered by Richmond Theatre Creative Learning in partnership with BalletBoyz, with funding from Richmond Theatre Trust. The free five-day programme is open to boys aged 12 to 16 who are interested in socialising, building confidence and exploring physical expression in a supportive environment.
Sessions will take place at the BalletBoyz Studio and Richmond Theatre between Monday 27 July and Friday 31 July, running daily from 10:45am to 3pm. The first three days of the project will be based at the BalletBoyz studio in Kingston, before moving to Richmond Theatre for the final two days. At the end of the week, participants will have the opportunity to share the work they have created with friends and family during an informal presentation. Young people taking part will also receive a free ticket to see one of the company’s shows.
The project aims to provide a welcoming space for boys to connect with others and themselves through creativity and movement. Participation is completely free, and support with travel and lunch costs is available for families where these may otherwise be a barrier to taking part.
