MAN&BOY graduates and volunteers Carl Myhill and his son Isaac are closing in on the finish line of their incredible 268-mile Pennine Way challenge, having now completed around 244 miles in support of MAN&BOY.
Since setting off in July, the father-and-son team have spent more than 150 hours on the trail, taking on one of Britain's most demanding long-distance walks to raise funds so more boys and their male role models can benefit from MAN&BOY's life-changing programmes.
The Pennine Way has lived up to its reputation. From navigating around Peak District moorland fires and enduring soaring temperatures to battling boggy paths, steep climbs and unpredictable weather, Carl and Isaac have navigated numerous challenges.
The latest stage of their journey has brought plenty of memorable milestones. They've reached the halfway point of the Pennine Way, crossed Cross Fell, the highest point on the trail, walked alongside the iconic Hadrian's Wall and met fellow long-distance hikers whose encouragement and stories have helped keep morale high. They even enjoyed a welcome overnight stay in a B&B after days of camping under canvas.
Carl and Isaac are living proof that MAN&BOY doesn't end when a programme finishes. Having first taken part together, they now volunteer at our activities and continue to champion our work through challenges like this. Their remarkable Pennine Way trek is helping to raise funds so more boys and their male role models can experience the confidence, connection and lasting memories that MAN&BOY helps create.
With the end of the Pennine Way now in sight, we'd love our supporters to help Carl and Isaac finish their challenge on a high. If you've been inspired by their determination, resilience and generosity, please consider making a donation. Thanks to Bloomberg Philanthropies, every pound donated will be matched, doubling the impact of your support.
On behalf of everyone at MAN&BOY, thank you, Carl and Isaac, for every mile you've walked and every family you're helping along the way.
