MAN&BOY Celebrate
Exciting Autumn for MAN&BOY
30 October 2017

Last weekend (29/10/17), partnering with Whitespider Climbing, Tolworth,  we hosted our second London Landmark Climbing Challenge.  It was a fantastic afternoon of climbing with 30 dedicated fundraisers climbing the heights of London, all to support MAN&BOY. It was so lovely to see a great group of all ages taking part and we  are very grateful to everyone who joined us to make it a memorable day.  Please check back here for a fundraising total which we are hoping to announce soon.  Thanks to our friend Martin Premm-Jones for taking some great photos of the afternoon's climbing.

Kingston Business Awards - Best Charity

Earlier in October, Trevor, Simon, Neil and John attended the 2017 Kingston Business Awards, held at Raven's Ait on the Thames.  MAN&BOY, we were confirmed as finalists in late summer and were overwhelmed to receive the award on the night for Best Charity.

We are very proud to have received this recognition for the work we have done locally since 2010 and are hoping that it will lead to greater things for MAN&BOY in 2018.

Presenting the award to MAN&BOY, judge Katherine Hall, Marketing Manager at Bentalls Kingston said:

“The charity we have chosen to win this category not only demonstrated innovative short term solutions to current social issues but also demonstrated that prevention is better than cure in the long run. Their business ethos and contribution to the local community is inspiring.”

It is my pleasure to be able to provide you with a testimonial/reference regarding this service which we have enjoyed in kingston for some years now. Trevor is very well regarded by the kingston schools who have used the programme and it has been reported that there have been some noticeable improvements in pupils’ engagement in their education. Funding has been through comic relief, personal development trust and kingston family learning and therefore, depending on the circumstances of each referral, a full or partial bursary has been available. We have encouraged schools to use the pp grant where appropriate in order to ensure access is as inclusive as possible. I would be happy to provide any further information you may need.  I would recommend man and boy to you unreservedly.
