Last Sunday saw our 3rd Annual London Landmark Climbing Challenge take place. We had 26 eager participants ready to climb the equivalent height of 6 different London Landmarks. Some of the participants have never climbed before and had serious anxiety over being up high dangling on a rope. Other participants had a back ground in climbing and eager to summit the shard (our tallest landmark). Over the 4 hour session our 26 person team managed to make 500 climbs, meaning they covered a distance of 5000 metres. This is a tremendous achievement and all who took part should feel proud in what they achieved. There needs to be a special shout out to Olivia Beckett (pictured below) who managed to make 101 climbs, ticking off all 6 landmarks by doing so. We should also thank the staff at Whitespider for proving us with such a fantastic safe space to climb and achieve our goal. Finally a big, big thank you goes to the people belaying for all those climbs, I'd say shake their hands but I know their hands are pretty sore!!
Through the event the participants have been able to raise over £1000 so far which is all going toward helping Man&Boy reach more families with in the local area. You can continue to support the team but giving at: https://localgiving.org/fundraising/llcc18/
Thank you so much for everyone who has support these climbers and another huge well done to the Climbers who took part and achieved so much!!
